Tromso Co., Ltd. was selected last year for Japan’s “Monozukuri” (Manufacturing Innovation) Subsidy Program.
As part of this initiative, we have introduced a gas chromatograph manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation. With this new analytical capability, Tromso will expand its biochar business by establishing a new greenhouse gas (GHG) measurement service.
The installed gas chromatograph is capable of simultaneously analyzing CO₂, N₂O, and CH₄, enabling precise and reliable greenhouse gas measurement. This enhancement strengthens our ability to scientifically evaluate biochar performance and its environmental impact.
To operate and manage the gas chromatograph, we have welcomed two international graduate students as interns—one from Rwanda studying at Hiroshima University and another from Nigeria studying at Okayama University. While we are a small company, our team is becoming increasingly global in scope and perspective.
In addition, we are planning to relocate our headquarters this year, marking what we anticipate will be a year of significant transformation and growth for Tromso.
We are currently preparing to begin accepting requests for greenhouse gas measurement services, with plans to officially open for service applications starting this autumn.
We look forward to sharing further updates in our next article. Thank you for your continued interest and support.
